Fate is the development of events beyond a person's control by an outside supernatural power. Act one sc 2 pretty much seals Juliet's fate to marry Paris. Although her father says Parris must woo his daughter at the party, he pretty much expects her to marry him. Of course Juliet will try to challenge this fate after she meets Romeo . This will have devastating consequences. Romeo mentions fate quite a few times. He often personifies it through stars and the Heavens. When fate does not go his way, Romeo pushes it, Then I defy you, stars!
