There is a lot of sexist language throughout the play. One might consider if Shakespeare wanted his audience to take note about how women were treated in that day. Note the "manly" banter between two servants. They normalize rape and violence against women.

SAMPSON
'Tis all one, I will show myself a tyrant.
when I have fought with the men, I will be civil
with the maids; I will cut off their heads.

GREGORY
The heads of the maids?

SAMPSON
Ay, the heads of the maids, or their maidenheads.
