Romeo and Juliet

How does the author use dramatic irony to convey a sense of tension in the passage?

a.) Juliet’s father sets a date for her arranged marriage to Paris without knowing that she is already married to Romeo. Also, they think she is crying about Tybalt’s death, when she is really upset about Romeo’s banishment.

b.) Juliet doesn’t know that Mercutio is related to the prince and that he was Romeo’s best friend.

c.) The audience doesn’t know that Friar Laurence is actually Romeo’s father.

d.) Romeo doesn’t know that the nurse told Juliet about Tybalt’s death and his banishment but the Friar does know.

I can do one at a time for you. You need to submit your other ones separately.

A. The audience already knows that R&J are married but most of the other characters do not hence dramatic irony. The same could be said for Juliet crying over Tybalt when the audience knows she is really crying about her Romeo and the potion she is about to take.
