Romeo is obsessed with romantic love.... from the start, we see him loving love. He sees love as powerful and all consuming.... taking up each moment. Juliet, on the other hand, is a bit more realistic. Like Romeo, she allows her love to consume her, but she also thinks about love in terms of marriage, making her own choices, and moving on from her status as daughter..... to the more independent role of wife.
