why was mama going door to door convincing people to stop going to the wallace store?would this have made tge difference?

The Wallaces didn't care about the welfare of the community and didn't stop the bad influences for the children (smoking and drinking). Yes, her visits did make a difference. The people agreed with her, but she ran into two negatives..... some people needed credit, and others couldn't make the trip to Vicksburg to do their shopping.
