What was the problem with the Jefferson Davis school bus?

The problem actually isn't with the bus, it's with the driver, who enjoys tearing through the mud while the Logan children are walking to school. Black children are not allowed of the Jefferson Davis bus..... it's for white children only.

The problem with the Jefferson Davis bus was that the bus driver was splashing Cassie and her siblings with the muddy waters as an entertainment to his passengers which were the white kids. So Stacey which was the intelligent one decided that he and his siblings were gonna dig a ditch as a pay back to the bus driver
