1) Mr granger get Mama fired because she helps to stir up the community and is a huge part of the boycott.

2. Mama says the one choice they have is ".... what we make of our lives.."

3) Mr Jamison felt that the Wallaces were wrong and wanted to help with the boycott. He felt the money was necessary for the people to take their business elsewhere and make a statement that might change things.
