If you were Stacey, would you stay friends with Jeremy? Why or why not?

This of course is asking for your opinion rather than mine. Papa warns Stacey that friendship between a black man and white man can never be on an equal basis and it would cost too much to find out if this friendship with Jeremy could last. I might be friends with Jeremy because Jeremy is a nice boy who truly sees to prejudice. I would also consider that something has to change for race-relations to improve. The younger generation can change things simply by developing connections through friendship.
