How do different characters react to racism?

Little Man- As the youngest of the children, Little Man doesn't understand racism, but it does make him angry.

Cassie- Racism confuses her, makes her angry, and causes her great frustration throughout the story. Occassionally she retaliates against racist acts, but as the novel progresses she show maturity in judgement and behavior.

Stacey is the quiet one. He keeps his anger inside and suffers silently. He knows that there's nothing he can do at this point to change either racism or its effects.
