How did the Logan Family get their land

Paul-Edward, Big Ma's late husband, bought the land from a Yankee. They have owned 200 acres for 50 years now and grow cotton. The other 200 acres are not fully paid for with mortgage.

Grangers couldn't pay the taxes on their land and had to sell it. The man who bought it later sold it to Paul Edward Logan. Logan bought some more later and is still paying for it. Grangers eventually bought back the land, except for the 400 acres that Logans own.
