How and why if Stacy's attitude about cheating different from TJ's?

Certainly TJ has a different set of values than Stacy. TJ has little problem cutting corners to achieve a given goal. Stacy has been brought up to understand that hard work is the only way to achieve his goal. Ma is also a teacher who instills these values in her kids.
