Robinson Crusoe

Discuss how Robinson Crusoe's time/survival o the island is an instance of the lone, technological Hero. How is this a metaphor for the way modern society tries to save itself with technology?

Crusoe uses his superior technological skills to build himself an empire on the island and to dominate everything around him. The analogy can be drawn to the modern world in the sense that modern technology allows Western society to dominate the entire world.
