Discuss the naïveté, in regards to war, that Jeff and other young men display.

Jeff’s love for his state is so strong that he is ready to go to war to fight for it and – if needed – die for it. Unfortunately, Jeff and other boys idealize and glamorize the war effort. There is nothing glamorous about the horrific violence and death of this war. I don't really think these boys really comprehended the realities of war.
