Richard II

What would you say Richard II's objective/goal is throughout the play?

What is it that Richard the II truly wants throughout the play (it may change thorughout)? Because he thinks he is the divine choice for the throne, would it be to retain his place as king and his high status (regardless of what bad deeds he commits)?

In my opinion, Richard II wants more than anything else to be acknowledged as worthy of a king. His mistakes, his anger, and his poor decision making are often caused by his inability to act. He consistently compares himself to others, and he makes monstrous mistakes in attempting to prove the power he already holds.
