Basically the narrator wants that memory caned and bottled up; She wants to cherish the moment that she with Mr.de Winter. WE all one a certain moment to last longer than it does. This is partly why we take pictures, a poor facsimile of an enjoyable experience. The narrator wants more. She wants the smells, the moment to be stored like a bottle of perfume.
