How would you describe the relationship between the parents and the children in the short story? Why might the relationship be like this? Provide reasons?

The parents have raised two very spoiled kids. Both kids feel entitled to do what they want. The parents are not firm. They yield to their children's complaints. I think one of the underlying reasons for this has to do with the family's reliance on technology to do everything for them. The children are given no responsibilities or sense of purpose.
