12. What happened to George and Lydia in the room? How is this possible?

The lions eat George and Lydia. It would seem that nursery is more real than even reality. The self-fulfilling nature of the room seems to tap into both fantasy and nightmare. This story is science fiction so we must allow for the surreal within the narrative.
