Religion can become an uncontrollable passion, especially when trying to indoctrinate others. Human frailties and religion often mix together. The Davidsons feel they are doing God's work yet come across as judgmental and pretentious. Reverend Davidson mixes his passion for saving Sadie's soul with his own sexual passions.
