Q & A

Why do people read literature?

To what degree do you think that literature (novels, short stories, poetry, plays, etc) should reflect the world around us? Should they tell us something about ourselves?

Reading literature sparks contemplation, reflection and the imagination. Interacting with text is a conscious choice that can transport the reader into different worlds and different ideas. At it's best, reading literature is a path to enlightenment.
