Question

Even though Japan caused severe damage during the bombing of Pearl Harbor, why could this attack be viewed as a Japanese mistake?

The bombing led to America's involvement in WW2 and Japanese defeat from American atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
