"Pyramid of Bone" is told by a narrator that is angry with her life and feels like things are missing. Her wedding gown was the same color as her skin, making it blend in, so she just took it off. The narrator, in a way, feels the same, since they just feel like it would be better to leave something off.
Another example given is a tooth that fell out, but the tongue is not enough to fill it. The narrator has a strange urge to fill everything, the most important thing to be filled being her life. As it is designed, "Pyramid of Bone" is a sad poem encompassing what it is like to be empty.
