Why does Eliza feel so concerned in Act 1?

Eliza is concerned about Higgins' presence and the fact that he is taking notes. She believes him to be an informant for the police and is frightened she will get into trouble. Selling flowers is her only source of income, and she cannot afford to lose the only job she has.
