Eliza went to mrs Higgins because she felt humilated by Higgins and pickering and that she didn't want to be ignored by mr Higgins anymore ..so she informed him in an indirect way asking him about her clothes and if it belonged to her or not as not to be accussed of stealing them then she left home.
