Look closely at Doolittle's speeches in Act 5, and see whether these just confirm his earlier views or whether anything is added.

Doolittle hates his new place is society but doesn't have the nerve to walk away from being a "gentleman." None-the-less, we do see changes..... his clothing, his charity, and most of all..... his desire (or feelings of responsibility) in finally marrying Eliza's mother.
