Pride and Prejudice is set in the 19th century England. The main physical setting is the country town of Longbourn, near Meryton. Longbourn is a provincial town, set in its ways, and home to the gentry.

Netherfield, rented by Bingley, status.......

Pemberley, Darcy's home, opulent, old money......

London, social status.....
