The society in Pride and Prejudice surround the strictly enforced social norms in society. Prejudice and pride are seen within the context of a rigid social structure. People were seen or not to be seen according to rank and ancestry. The title itself can be centered around the relationship between Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth. Mr. Darcy and Elizabeth transcend the boundaries fixed for them. Their roles of social stereotype are not set in stone. They share many a laugh; they enjoy each other’s wit, at the dismay of others. As we come to realize the very full characters of both father and Elizabeth, the others increasingly become caricatures. Mr. Bennet’s extreme politeness in conversation allows him to have plenty of ironic and satirical fun with other characters like Mrs. Bennet
