How do Lydia's actions impact their entire family? How do the Bennett family's reaction to Lydia's elopement contribute to their established characters?

Lydia's immaturity and desire for a man embarrasses both Elizabeth and her father. Her elopement with Wickham devastates the family.... everyone except her mother, who is merely happy to have her daughter married off. Because Lydia's reputation would have been ruined, Darcy's interference and the subsequent marriage offset the ruination of her reputation. It doesnt, however, soften the fact that she's married a dishonorable man.
