Comment briefly on the title of pride and prejudice.

Each of the characters in Pride and Prejudice suffers from a certain degree of one or the other. The novel's conflicts revolve around issues of pride (think Darcy and Elizabeth) and prejudice (think Collins and Catherine). Thus, the title itself stands for both the novel's conflicts, and the weaknesses the main characters will be required to overcome.
