The result of knowing too much (science/ technology, ect.) is dangerous becausee it provides mankind with a sense of power, which makes it possible for men to convince themselves they are equal to or able to displace God.

As far as 'too little' knowledge, Pope encourages mankind to self-relection and a continued quest for knowledge, because without it, man places himself further from God and closer to the beasts of the earth.
