On the first paragraph of "The Tell-Tale Heart." What does it tell us about the narrator? What later event does it foreshadow? what problem does the narrator have with the "old man" and how does this conflict with the narrator's claim?

He is very nervous but maintains he is not mad. The narrator claims he has a disease which has "sharpened my senses." It foreshadows that this guy is rather unstable. The old man he lives with has a bulging eye that seems to bother the narrator. This conflicts with the narrator's claim that he is a good judge of character and a genius.
