There is the romantic old Ireland that is fading away,

"Yet they were of a different kind,

The names that stilled your childish play,

They have gone about the world like wind...

Romantic Ireland's dead and gone,"

This Ireland is being replaced by a new Ireland ruled by a Catholic elite and regimented society.
