When 2 children are trapped in a burning building, Pippi saves the first boy, and gets down herself, but does not rescue the other boy. What gives?

Pippi saved both boys.

Pippi reached the tree safely with the little boys. Then the crowd cheered so loudly that the dark night was filled with noise and the sound drowned out the crackling of the fire.
