Pippi Longstocking

Captain Ephraim Longstocking

I just forgot one information:

The father of Pippi is a captain and king of the island. Is he a gipsy, or not?

I think I saw it somewhere in the books, when I was young.

Today, I am 52 years old :-)

Thanks for the answer.

Pippi's father is a sailor and adventurer and clearly the most profound influence in Pippi's life even in his absence. I don't recall that he was a gypsy. I do remember there was a re-interpretation of the story where Pippi is supposed to be a Romani girl who moves into the Rinkeby quarter of Stockholm.
