Why was Satrapi a traitor to the revolution according to the Guardians of the Revolution? Why was it dangerous to try to be an individual?

Satrapi is arguing here that the people of Iran have made an unconscious decision to follow the religious leaders for no other reason than that they cannot determine a purpose or direction for the country without them. Marjane’s family also imitates the sheep, blindly leaving for a life in the United States. It is dangerous to stand out in a religious fundamentalist theocracy. Free speech and thought can easily get one killed.
