Why does Satrapi deliver the narrative through the voice of a young Marjane

We see Marjane as a child and the changes she goes through as an adult. Her life is a reflection of the uphevil and changes in Iran. Her voice is young and unburdened by political baggage of the past. This gives us fresh and even hopeful refections about her country, even when things are going badly.
