How does the relationship between Marji and Laly appear to change after they both learn the truth? “The Heroes”

There was animosity in their relationship largely because Marji claimed her father was dead. I don't think Laly forgave her for that and Maji's apology was not very heartfelt. Laly uses the fact that her father was a tortured war hero to make Marji feel badly about her own father. Things would not be mended between them.
