Did marji's parents do a good job raising her in Iran?

Marji's parents raised a progressive daughter with a strong social conscience. She did not settle for the status quo but challenged it instead. Challenging the powers that be was a dangerous thing to do in Iran but parents who modeled this type of courage had brought up Marji.
