Why does Grenouille begin and end his killing spree with redheaded girls?

He begins the killing with the plum girl

then when he is collecting the scents for the base of the perfume with all different types of girls

but then Laure is his last kill and she is also a redhead like the plum girl.

Is it an insignificant fetish, is it a sort of "preference" he has towards redheads, or am I missing something?
