How Emily wants to appear in general?

Emily is an intelligent girl and likes to appear so. She takes pride in her schoolwork as girls were expected to at the time. Emily has no problems appearing to conform to expectations because she wants what is expected of her. Although she notes she wants to stay young, it is within the confines of getting married and having a family.
