He convinces Othello to dismiss Cassio after Cassio gets into a fight. He plans to make Othello believe that Desdemona is having an affair with Cassio. He tries to involve Roderigo in his scheme and even engages his wife, ultimately, to pick up a handkerchief to place it in a questionable place to enrage Othello.
