Iago knows that Brabantio will not approve of his daughter marrying a moor. Iago will set up a scenario where Desdemona publicly rebukes her father's wishes. Brabantio tells Othello that she has deceived her father and will deceive him. This will bolster the doubt that Othello has about Desdemona's fidelity later on in the play.
