how do cypriots differ from the venetians?

at line 99 othello says he has found much love amongst the cypriots. whats the significance of this statement in relation to othellos previous experiences in venice?

I think that Cypriots are darker in complexion than Venetians. They accept and favour Othello because they do not feel above him. Although Othello is applauded in Venice he will never be accepted because he is a moor.
