Explain Iagos attitude towards Othello.

Iago is angry at Othello for failing to promote him to an open military post. He feels that Cassio, who received the promotion, was not experienced enough, and thus, was not as qualified. Iago continues to support Othello publicly for his own benefit, behind the scenes, he is determined to ruin him.
