Iago is somewhat of a flat character in that he does not change all that much in the story; he is evil, devious and jealous from the very beginning and does not change once he decides that he has been treated unfairly by Othello. He creates evil plans, he tricks characters through some horrible lies and misdirection of feelings and actions. However, his personality does not really change, although the characters do not see that until it is too late.
