An ally, or friend, might have succeeded in making Othello see sense.... to see the reality. Othello has no one to talk to, and those he confides in are the people who manipulate him at every turn. A friend might have been able to expose the manipulation.... to make him see the lies and deceit, as well as the innocence of Desdemona..... who never stops loving him.
