In what ways does the narrator intrude on the story?

Scholars also cannot determine with certainty whether the narrator of Oroonoko is intended to represent Aphra Behn and whether the narrative is intended to be telling the truth. In any case it is interesting that when Imoinda arrives in the story, so does the white narrator. We can wonder if this intrusion is a manipulation of the reader or rather a connection with the reader.THe narrator seems to sympathize with Oroonoko which begs the question of bias.
