color yellow

does anyone know what the color yellow may represent in this book? It is brought up many times; from the color of the train, the flowers that fall after Jose Arcadia's death, and the butterflies?

Yellow, its the favourite colour of Marquiz.
He used to have yellow roses on his tables while he writes.
But he is not interested in yellow metal, gold!!

Yellow represents death.
Yellow represents moratlity and its beauty.
Yellow leaves falls down to yellow soil during yellow summer seasons...thats my vision
