Riots prompted the installation of electronic gates.
A burglary prompted the installation of bars on the windows, as well as an alarm system.
The influx of tsotsis (hooligans) convinced them they needed a higher wall.
New additions of protection around the neighborhood prompted them to have barbed wire place atop the wall.
