Curley's wife tells Lennie that she once met a guy from Hollywood. . Curley's wife claims that he was "gonna put me in the movies...says I was a natural". This, of course, never came to fruition. Curley's wife suspects that her "ol' lady stole it" (mother). The letter symbolizes broken dreams. Curley's wife literally has nobody to talk to.The other men are afraid of losing their job; Lennie doesn't know any better.
