why does Curley's wife tell Lennie about "the letter"? What do you think the letter symbolizes

Curley's wife tells Lennie that she once met a guy from Hollywood. . Curley's wife claims that he was "gonna put me in the movies...says I was a natural". This, of course, never came to fruition. Curley's wife suspects that her "ol' lady stole it" (mother). The letter symbolizes broken dreams. Curley's wife literally has nobody to talk to.The other men are afraid of losing their job; Lennie doesn't know any better. Ironically her flirting with Lennie is going to lead to the broken dreams of others
